Nobody's standing around a hire-kart website trying to work out if the track takes bookings for twelve blokes on a Saturday. Nobody's driving out to some industrial estate hoping the birthday-party track has room. It's already booked, already yours, already running before the group's even finished arguing about who's fastest.
A host runs the group through it properly: a warm-up round to feel the rumble and suss out the corners, then two full heats where the tactics get looser and the overtakes get ballsier with every lap. By the time the chequered flag drops, the bragging rights are already being fought over, and they won't get settled quietly.
From the track, a private transfer picks the group straight up. No standing on a kerb trying to flag a ride for twelve, no splitting into cars and losing half the group at the lights. One driver, one vehicle, the whole crew moving together while the karting arguments keep running in the back seat.
The group walks straight into our sports bar with the seats already held. Two pool tables sit cordoned off for the crew alone, cues up before anyone's even finished their first lap of the room. The Buck gets handed his own jug before he's found a seat, the first sign that tonight, he's the one being looked after.
Next, a modern pub feed. Every legend picks his own plate, burger and chips, parmi, or pizza, paired with a spirit and mixer or a schooner of house beer. And the Buck gets a round the rest of the table doesn't: his own bonus drink, on the house, because dinner's not dinner if he's the only one paying attention to the menu instead of drinking.
The last stop lands the group right on the water. A waterfront bar in Darling Harbour, reserved seating waiting, a jug landing with the crew the second they sit down, and another bonus beer finding the Buck on top of it. The cocktail list runs at MUB rates for the group, in case anyone's still standing come last drinks.
