Last Minute Bucks Party Ideas
Been Best Man for a while, looked up, and suddenly the wedding is around the corner? Or just had the responsibility lumped on you in record time and are now scrambling harder than the Pentagon to DEFCON 1? Either way, it’s the last minute and you need to put on a party for your best friend that he’ll remember for the rest of his life. Well, gather up the boys, and choose a date, you’ve got some planning to do. We’ve got a list below to help you out, these are generally things that are available at short notice, but it depends on the season and venue, don’t be afraid to call around!
Beach Resort Weekend
If the weather’s good and you’ve got some cash, pull the boys on up to the Gold Coast or somewhere beachy with incredible weather, grab a few rooms at your choice of resort, sit back in an infinity pool and enjoy the bar. If that alone, plus seeing your mate have a crack at a few of the ladies at the pool bar, sounds like your perfect time then sit back and enjoy the tan. Otherwise, see what the resort has to offer, from ATVing around Moreton Island, or stand up paddle boarding, between cocktail parties there’s always something to do. With heaps of space, these resorts can be a great last minute memory maker.
LAN Party
Got an exhausted buck who enjoys playing a few video games with the boys? Then why not invite him and all his equipment over to your place for a weekend of pizza, your favourite bevs and snacks, and gaming! Perfect if you’re trying to save your budget for the wedding, you can break up the day by heading out for lunch or dinner, but otherwise just enjoying your digital playground of choice.
Paintball
A classic way to bring the boys together, and almost always available. With larger venues being able to field dozens of players, if you’re short on time but have the numbers, pretty much any number really, then throw on some overalls and get out to the battlefield. Winery/Brewery Tour
Whether crushed grape or malted barley is your choice, wineries and breweries are fantastic ways to get everyone together and enjoy the day, regardless of the weather. With plenty to choose from in each city, treat the party to more than one, some might even say a ‘crawl’, and engage in as many tastings as your liver can handle. Bonus points for hiring a van and a driver so you can leave the deso card at home. Enjoy the day with fantastic food, better beverages, and the lads in this last minute pick.
Poker Night
Looking for something a little more intimate? Grab the lads and a hotel room, or a private room above a pub and deal out the cards in a not-so/friendly game of poker, or your favourite card game. Whether you’re using real funds, shots, or just the chips, relax with your favourite drink and enjoy each other’s company. Of course if you wanted to enjoy more than that, let’s call up a few topless hotties to deal the cards or pop the caps off your beers quicker than they popped their own tops off. Relaxed with a hint of spice will make for a time the boys won’t soon forget.
Clubbing/Bar Crawl
We’ve known very few bars and clubs to be totally full up or booked out ahead of time, which makes them perfect last minute additions to a buck’s party. Whether this is all you have planned, a spur fo the moment idea, or the end of a fantastic day, what better way to celebrate your best mate’s big day than a couple of drinks at a nice rooftop bar followed by a boogie in a strobing club with a DJ that knows what he’s doing? Not that you’re constrained to one of each of course, walk/crawl/Uber to as many as you’d like, bonus points for having a place to stay for the night too!
Boat Trip
Provided the weather’s good, or if you don’t mind it a little rough, hire out a boat and head out to sea, or up your river of choice for some fishing with the boys. If you’re looking for calmer water, then freshwater is usually it, but a day away from land, with the salt spray and a bigger catch may be more to your fancy. Top up a few eskies with ice and your choice of brew, even bring a few snags for the barbie and you’ve got a top time in the sun with the boys.
A cheeky alternative to this is the straight up boat party. Grab the lads and a few plus ones, maybe even of the stripper variety, couple that with a full open bar and cruise around with enough bass to scare off the fish.
