The Best Destinations for a Bucks Party Weekend Away
There’s a certain irony in asking where the best destination for a buck’s party is when we imagine the answer to the rest of the world is “Australia”. So for the locals or for the ones just stopping by, here’s a non-exhaustive list of great places to have a buck’s weekend away. We’ll give you an overview of some places, remember you can tailor it to any of your specific needs or desires.

Brisbane, Sunny and Gold Coasts
Home of summer, although ironically better in the winter (southern hemisphere’s) as that’s the dry season. Here it’s great one day and perfect the next, with a wide variety of things to do all under the sun. Below is a few reasons we love this part of the country:
Perfect weather.
No matter the season, and especially if you’re coming from the colder states like Vic or Tassie, as long as you like the warmth and sun you’ll love South-East QLD.
Beach to Hinterland.
Just outside of any of the three major areas you’ve got everything. The Gold Coast hinterlands are beautiful and you can head up to Mount Tamborine for a taste of the crystal and homemade fudge life, with a cheese factory and brewery as well to help relax away the day. Further north and you’ve got the Sunshine Coast where life is slow, there’s plenty of boats to get out on, and enough beach for your whole party to have space. Right in the middle is Brisbane with its famous nightlife in Fortitude Valley, and the advantage of being close to the Gold and Sunny cost, Surfers Paradise and Maloolaba, respectively.
Chilled out.
Relaxed is the word and the people, maybe they’re just happier from getting so much sun, either way any beach bar is the perfect vibe.
With its nature, chilled vibes, and nightlife, plus a whole range of activities, SE Queensland is the perfect first choice destination for any buck’s weekend away.

Sydney
If you haven’t been to Sydney yet then you don’t know what you’re missing. Whilst it can be on the pricier side, it offers heaps to do and plenty of classics to go see.
Home of Drag
We don’t care how manly you are, everyone should see one of Sydney’s famous drag shows once in their life. From the energy to the jokes, these sassy vixens will cover a range of topics that’ll have you marvelling at their dress to howling with laughter. Bring a bunch of friends along and enjoy what’s going to be one of the most memorable shows you’ve ever seen.
Old Wine is Good Wine
The Hunter Valley region, just north of Sydney is the oldest wine growing region in the country and has an exquisite beauty. For anyone that enjoys the finer things, or even just a day at the vineyard this is the place to be. Jump on a private coach or van and do a tour, from light and fruity whites to deep reds with dark notes of cherry, you’ll find a bit of everything at these centres of culture. The art and perfect food will also draw your eyes and your tastebuds.
Sightseeing
Of course you can’t go to Sydney without enjoying the city itself. Every Aussie or wanna be Aussie (which you will after being here) has got to see the Sydney Opera House (Dishrack) and the Harbour Bridge (big thing that goes over a body of water allowing travel without getting wet). These Aussie icons make for the best backdrop to photos taken at one of the trendy bars or clubs and will make you the envy of every other buck’s party.
With so much to do and so much history and modern flavour, Sydney is one of our favourites.

Perth
If you’re an Aussie and from anywhere other than Perth you probably scoffed when you read this, but trust us enough to listen to the pitch. We’ve found Perth to be an underrated gem in Australia, with its coastal style, clean (and mostly empty beaches), there’s plenty here to do. Let’s run through a few:
Coastal City
Some of the best beaches in the country are either in Perth or just outside, we might even say better than Queensland’s! Super clean and quiet, with perfect sand and water, if you’re looking to chill out from the stresses of life, have some fresh seafood, and get a tan, then this is the place you want to be.
Swan and Margaret Rivers
With the Swan river lazily gliding through the city proper, what better way to experience Perth than on a river cruise? Enjoy this scenic experience which leaves plenty more to explore when you’re done. South of Perth is the verdant Margaret river region, almost as famous for its wine and cellar doors as Sydney’s Hunter Valley. Here you can do tours and tastings in one of the most beautiful regions of the country.
Culture
You thought Brisbane was laidback when we said it? Amp that up to 11 and you have Perth. As laid back as even an Aussie can get, coast through life with this coastal lifestyle. Hit up the bars or enjoy a museum and the multicultural vibe of the city. There’s plenty to do from sports and community activities to hiking and exploring the outer regions, even 4x4ing if you’ve got the right kit!
This underrated gem is perfect for the buck looking for a mix of culture, food, a good drink, and a fantastic beach.
And there's our favourite places to steal way with your mates for a buck's weekend. Or why wait for that, especially when you can just go on a whim!
